The Nordic ecosystems
The Nordic region has often marked itself internationally as a place to look to and be inspired, to build a business network and keep an eye on new ideas and business trends. In the Nordics we pride ourselfs to be innovators, creators and builders of future global successes.
This article will scratch the surface of the nordic ecosystems that are supporting companies and enabling novel ideas across all stages of investments.
In each Nordic country ecosystems are truly developing and maturing into hotbeds of informational pulse and creative ideation, reflecting the culture they represent.
The all Nordic Mesh Community is one of the must-follow players in the ecosystem: “We work with the objective to boost the startup ecosystem in the Nordics, in order to help startups grow faster and smarter”. They have made it very easy to follow news from Denmark and Norway — for weekly news-update on funding, new startups and much more. Sign up here.
Another notable ecosystem platform for international investors to tap into is Danish TechSavvy. This tech-startup news outlet has supported the ecosystem and founders for over a decade by sharing stories and uplifting the community. Now TechSavvy are planning to branch out to other Nordic countries making news from the startup community even more intriguing and locally relevant.
In Finland Maria01 is one of the legacy communities that took on the challenge to truly build a platform for support and acceleration of promising startups: “Maria 01 is the Nordics’ Leading Startup Campus. We are a not-for-profit combination of a selective tech-club, a community house, and a tribe of people”. Follow their work and news about Finish and Nordic ideas and founders here.
The above ressources are just a drop in the bucket of the many platforms, supportive initiatives and ecosystem players. They all offer ways to easily tap into a glimpse of what is going on and where.
The Nordic ecosystem has matured and is therefore by definition also much more complex. Niches of every kind are emerging and this equally poses pros, but also cons in navigating as an outside investor.
